About

"I like to think I have the power to influence others through programming and software development!"

I am a Sophomore at The University of Arizona, where I am majoring in Computer Science, and also minoring in Mathematics and Nutritional Science. This is my first year of being at Arizona. I spent my time after graduating high school attending El Camino College and working as an Accountant with Hunt Enterprises and as a Manager with The Overstock Center. During these times, I was very fortunate to be able to meet many amazing people that have influenced my life and helped me become the person I am today. After completing all the preparations I needed, I was finally able to transfer to The University of Arizona and it has been such an enjoyable experience so far.

Most recently, I've been dedicating much of my time studying and learning about Android Development and Web Development. I have always wanted to be able to make apps and websites. Apart from the times that I hone my java fundamentals through the different computer science classes I am taking at The University of Arizona, I also spend my time outside of class practicing Android and Web Development by taking on various fun projects!

I was recently hired by tryRoll to be a Brand Ambassador. I answer student concerns while promoting our photo sharing app! I also recently started working as an Android Developer with AutoKept. I am currently in training with AutoKept and after I finish my training, I will be responsible for the Android Full Stack Development which is quite exciting!

In the midst of all this, I also manage to stay physically active. When I am not busy with school or work, you can find me in the Rec Center participating in intramurals, playing basketball or working out. I love the game of basketball and I also love fitness and nutrition in general. If I'm not in the gym, I'll most likely be attending workshops and presentations by different tech companies. I enjoy attending these events because it allows me to stay up to date with new technology while also gaining more knowledge about the field of Software Engineering.

I've worked at amazing places, and met the most amazing people.
Android App Developer
AutoKeptOct 2015 - Present
AutoKept is a startup that launched in January of 2015. It's mission is to provide a fast and easy way to record mileage, tax deductions or bookkeeping by simply using their app. I am currently in training and my role in this company so far has been debugging the android application. Once finished with training, I will be fully responsible for the android full stack development. While I'm still no expert at android development, I attempt to do my responsibilities to the best of my ability, because I truly want to see this company succeed.
Campus Brand Ambassador
tryRoll Sep 2015 - Present
A photo sharing startup that launched in April of 2015. The company is backed by the same investors as Instagram, SnapChat, and Uber. I am the company's representative for the whole student body of The University of Arizona. I host events and promotions in order to bring awareness to the app. I also provide student feedback and concerns to my manager so that the development team may handle them.
Accounts Payable Accountant
Hunt Enterprises Sep 2013 - Aug 2015
At Hunt Enterprises I worked with other accountants that handled all the transactions of the company. I managed vendor/supplier relations and oversaw the timely, accurate processing of invoices, purchase orders, expense reports, payment transactions and much more. I really owe a ton to this company because they helped me develop into the person I am. I am currently working on rebuilding their website.
Retail Store Manager
Overstock Center May 2014 - Jun 2015
The Overstock Center is a retail store my family opened in May of 2014. I managed associates and trained them on key sales tactics. I met weekly sales goals and implemented new processes such as a customer rewards program that I coded using Java. Because this is a family-owned business, it was humbling to see my parents and relatives work tirelessly. This has inspired me to become the best software developer that I can be so that I can use those skills to help with the establishment.
JAWS Basketball Coach
South End Jun 2013 - Feb 2015
At South End Racquet and Health Club, I coached kids ranging from the ages of 5 - 12. I conducted practices and taught them how to play basketball. Basketball and mentoring is two things that I really enjoy. Having a positive impact on these kids and serving as a role model was truly an experience that I will always cherish. I was able to build lasting relationships with the kids and also the parents.
