Experience
I've worked at amazing places, and met the most amazing people.
Software Development Engineer
UNITEDHEALTH GROUPMay 2018 - Aug 2018
I was selected to be in UnitedHealth Group's 2018 Technical Development Program.
I was part of a team of 3 that provided a Continuous
Integration/Continuous Delivery proof of concept that was then
approved and was in process to be implemented. We were also
part of a scrum team and participated in daily stand ups and
meetings. I also was able to learn the Spring Framework and
delivered an application for the team to use which improved the
process efficiency.
Full-Stack Web Developer
University of ArizonaJan 2018 - May 2018
Worked with an Associate Professor in Computer Science and his
research team to launch an NSF (National Science Foundation)
supported project. I was responsible for developing the Full Stack
Web Application which utilizes a NodeJS stack. The process of
collaborating with different teams, hardware team, design, etc.,
is very engaging and working towards a common goal makes it much
more exciting.
Senior Web Applications Developer
University of ArizonaSep 2017 - May 2018
Worked with a team of Web Developers to assist a
Principal Web Developer/Designer where we provided support to the
University of Arizona's Student Unions through hardware and
software configuration, troubleshooting issues, and designing new
solutions for evolving business needs. I was promoted to a Senior
position 2 months into my employment after being recognized for
my aptitude in working with teams and in Web Development.
Coding Mentor
CodecademyAug 2016 - Apr 2017
Was part of a team of advisors that chatted regularly with
students through an online platform provided by Codecademy. As an
advisor, we helped define student goals, reviewed coding topics
one-on-one and helped debug code. We were responsible with
motivating and encouraging students by guiding them to additional
resources available to deepen learning capacity. My fellow
advisors and I worked together to support and track student
progress to ensure student success.
Web Developer Intern
ASUAJan 2016 - Dec 2016
I worked with a team of 5 web developers, primarily as a back-end
developer, where we tackled projects and met strict deadlines. At
ASUA, we work on projects for students and professors. Our most
recent accomplishments include a lecture taking web app, UA
Lecture Notes, and a website for the University of Arizona Senate.
We also worked on delivering a club template web app that provides
University of Arizona clubs with an easy website builder!
Android Developer Intern
AutoKeptOct 2015 - Mar 2016
AutoKept is a startup that launched in January of 2015. It's
mission is to provide a fast and easy way to record mileage, tax
deductions or bookkeeping by simply using their app. I am
currently in training and my role in this company so far has been
debugging the android application. Once finished with training, I
will be fully responsible for the android full stack development.
While I'm still no expert at android development, I attempt to do
my responsibilities to the best of my ability, because I truly
want to see this company succeed.
Campus Brand Ambassador
tryRoll Sep 2015 - Dec 2015
A photo sharing startup that launched in April of 2015. The
company is backed by the same investors as Instagram, SnapChat,
and Uber. I am the company's representative for the whole student
body of The University of Arizona. I host events and promotions in
order to bring awareness to the app. I also provide student
feedback and concerns to my manager so that the development team
may handle them.
Accounts Payable Accountant
Hunt Enterprises
Sep 2013 - Aug 2015
At Hunt Enterprises I worked with other accountants that handled
all the transactions of the company. I managed vendor/supplier
relations and oversaw the timely, accurate processing of invoices,
purchase orders, expense reports, payment transactions and much
more. I really owe a ton to this company because they helped me
develop into the person I am.
Retail Store Manager
Overstock Center
May 2014 - Jun 2015
The Overstock Center is a retail store my family opened in May of
2014. I managed associates and trained them on key sales tactics.
I met weekly sales goals and implemented new processes such as a
customer rewards program that I coded using Java. Because this is
a family-owned business, it was humbling to see my parents and
relatives work tirelessly. This has inspired me to become the best
software developer that I can be so that I can use those skills to
help with the establishment.
JAWS Basketball Coach
South End Jun 2013 - Feb 2015
At South End Racquet and Health Club, I coached kids ranging from
the ages of 5 - 12. I conducted practices and taught them how to
play basketball. Basketball and mentoring is two things that I
really enjoy. Having a positive impact on these kids and serving
as a role model was truly an experience that I will always
cherish. I was able to build lasting relationships with the kids
and also the parents.
